Digital Downshifting was first conceived and formed in early 2020 as an independent record label dedicated to Ukrainian music and culture. In the beginning, the label represented two Ukrainian bands — Blichaus80 and Aircraft — with a clear mission: to bring Ukrainian artistry to audiences around the world. But the timing collided with reality. The COVID-19 pandemic, followed by the full-scale Russian invasion, forced the label’s operations into an unavoidable pause. Yet the idea never died. In 2025, like a phoenix, Digital Downshifting was reborn in Berlin — rebuilt with a sharper vision, stronger purpose, and an even deeper commitment to independent musicians. Our original idea remains unchanged: to support Ukrainian (and not only) artists globally, with integrity, authenticity, and belief in their voices. At Digital Downshifting, the music always comes first. We champion artists with respect, transparency, and independence. We believe that powerful sound and honest expression can connect people across borders, cultures, and histories. By building a foundation of carefully curated releases, visual identity, and sonic performances, we aim to unite listeners from all over the world — and to provide a home for artists whose work deserves to be heard far beyond their origin.
